Large mouth bass are still good and these fish can still be caught with spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits. Spoons are effective, fished vertically, near humps and main lake points 20 to 25 feet deep.
Walleye are still fair and being caught on spoons over brush piles on main lake points.
Stripers are still good on live bait with shad or trot line minnows. White ½ oz. Jigs and ¾ oz spoons are still working as well. These fish are breaking early and late and can be caught with C-10 redfins and Zara spooks.
Bream are fair with worms in 18 to 25 feet of water.
Crappie are very good and being caught over brush and moss beds. Try brush in water 15 to 20 feet deep. Minnows or crappie grubs are still working best. Tennessee shad and white are still the best colors for artificial baits.
Catfish are still fair and being caught on cut bait and live bait on jug lines and trot lines.

Join us in February as we celebrate the majestic wild Bald Eagle population on Lake Ouachita! On Saturday the 7th, Eric Maynard will present a slideshow on wildlife photography followed by a wildlife photo hike. On Saturday the 21st Rusty Scarborough will present a seminar on wild birds with special feathered co-hosts. Both seminars will take place at our marina at 10 am . Private eagle watching barge tours will be offered - please contact our marina for pricing and availability! Have lunch at the Lodge Restaurant afterwards!

Join us for a fun-filled Celebration over the Easter Holidays at Harbor! On Saturday, our annual Easter Egg Hunt starts at 11 am at the East Cove Park. Over 1000 eggs have been craftily hidden for our hunt...and the doggie hunt has fun, healthy treats and toys for our four legged friends to hunt for! Afterwards treat yourself to our cookies and other goodies and watch the kids enjoy the Easter party games! After the event, the Joplin Volunteer Fire Department is on hand with a fire truck parade to the lodge with a chance for all the kids to ride on an actual fire truck! 9 am at the trail head of the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail at the Resort. Join Turtle Cove Spa staff for a hike with fun suprises!! There's no charge, but please call Turtle Cove Spa or the Lodge to sign up in advance! Recommended for ages 13 and older--you'll be back in time for the Easter Egg Hunt.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Party on Saturday, April 11th. at 11am. Everyone is invited for this exciting party with a visit from Easter Bunny! Prizes, dancing, refreshments and over 2,000 hidden eggs make this an event for the whole family! All weekend outdoor activities are weather permitting!

New! Harbor Doggie Egg Hunt! We have soooo many four-legged friends here at Harbor that we are offering a special event just for them with lots of treats and goodies!

The Blessing of the Fleet will start at 11 am on Lake Ouachita and will be presided over by the Reverend Ted Deweese of the Joplin and Mount Ida Methodist churches. Boats from all over come to be blessed on the water and receive a Certificate of Blessing. All donations go to the Joplin Methodist Church Missions fund.
